Insurance moves: Mosaic, Highstreet, James River, Alliant and KYND
Several insurers, brokers and insurtechs have announced senior appointments across the US and North America, reflecting ongoing investment in growth roles, underwriting specialization and analytics-driven advisory capabilities.
Mosaic Insurance is expanding its financial institutions and professional liability capabilities with a string of hires across key US hubs, building on last year’s appointments of Sachin Warty as global head of financial institutions and professional liability (FinPro) and Ann Nozica as head of Americas, financial institutions.
In New York, John Soular (pictured, left) has joined as senior vice president, miscellaneous professional liability. With more than 20 years’ experience in professional lines and cyber underwriting, most recently leading Liberty Mutual/Ironshore’s professional liability group, he will focus on complex risks and partner relationships.
In Chicago, Michael Rossiter (pictured, center) has been hired as assistant vice president, financial institutions, to build Mosaic’s FI portfolio across the US and expand its broker network. He previously worked on the FI underwriting team at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, covering US central and western regions, and also held a regulatory role at FINRA.
In Los Angeles, Katy Heatherton (pictured, right) has joined as assistant vice president, financial institutions, overseeing the US western region. She held prior underwriting roles at CNA and Nationwide, serving as a key contact across FI portfolios.
They join Mosaic’s existing global team of finpro specialists in London, Toronto and Bermuda. Warty said the additions come amid “increased regulatory scrutiny, higher litigation frequency, and more complex balance‑sheet and governance pressures” across the finpro landscape, and are intended to give the Americas platform greater depth and technical strength.
Highstreet Insurance Partners has named Todd Macumber (pictured immediately above) as chief growth officer, a newly defined role that will oversee business development, industry solutions, loss control and claims management.
Macumber joins from Hub International, where he was chief operating officer of commercial lines. At Highstreet, Macumber will focus on accelerating organic growth, expanding specialized industry capabilities and strengthening client-centric service within the firm's market solutions team.
James River Group Holdings has rehired Kelly Hadiaris as senior vice president, underwriting – excess casualty, to lead its excess casualty division within the excess and surplus (E&S) segment.
Hadiaris has more than two decades of experience in the E&S market, with senior underwriting roles at Markel, Berkley and Allianz, where she built and managed complex casualty portfolios and led underwriting teams. She previously worked at James River and played a key role in the early development of its excess and general casualty portfolios.
Alliant Insurance Services has appointed Will McMinn as vice president within its employee benefits group, continuing the broker’s investment in the Southeast.
McMinn has more than 20 years’ experience in employee health and benefits, with a particular focus on pharmacy benefit management (PBM) sales and consulting. He joins from a national insurance brokerage and consulting firm, where he was a partner and employee benefits consultant.
Cyber risk intelligence firm KYND has named Aaron Aanenson (pictured immediately above) as head of insurance, North America, as it builds out its US presence and targets SME cyber growth for carriers and brokers.
Aanenson, who has more than 18 years’ experience across cybersecurity and insurance, including roles at Bitsight and S‑RM, will lead KYND’s insurance strategy across the US. He will work with insurers and brokers to support faster, more accurate underwriting and portfolio oversight, and to help carriers “unlock growth amongst the SME market.”
